Sanika led several projects this year to promote youth involvement.

Sustainability Ambassadors Youth Impact Project Training

Sanika is a Sustainability Ambassador for Kirkland, where she works with peer ambassadors and local changemakers to help our city rapidly advance toward a sustainable future. This fall, she helped organize and facilitate the Kirkland Youth-led Solar Potential Impact Project Training to promote solarized neighborhoods in our city.

Junior Writer for Kirkland Living City Magazine

As a Junior Writer for Kirkland Living magazine, Sanika publishes about 4 articles every quarter to identify notable young changemakers in my community and promote awareness of local youth. The magazine reaches about 3000 city residents.

Advocacy for Safer Bike Lanes

This is her initiative to promote safer bike lanes in our city. As part of this work, she has proposed a bill and currently working with Kirkland City's Active Transportation committee for updates to the 2022 Active Transportation Plan and exploring the option of the bill proposal as an RCW at WA State.
